Before you read any further, we have to ask: Are you wearing sunscreen?
This image of a 69-year old trucker has been circulating for a few weeks as part of a new study on the damaging effects of UVA rays in the New England Journal of Medicine. As a truck driver for more than 25 years, the left side of this man’s face was exposed to the sun through the window of his vehicle. The proof is in the picture, and the damage is startling!
This evidence should put to bed the myth that you need to be outside in the sun to get substantial damage. As we always say at Watkins, make wearing sunscreen part of your daily routine. And make sure to reapply before you hit the road after work.
