Get an Early Start on Spring Cleaning

We’re sure you’ve all heard, but the groundhog saw his shadow this year – so here’s to a few more weeks of winter. As we anticipate spring’s arrival, we’ve been thinking about spring cleaning! Why wait until the weather is beautiful outside to get your major cleaning done? We’d rather clean while the weather is frosty so we can get outside as the flowers bloom. With that in mind, get a head start (or finish early) this year.

First up? Hit the junk drawer. Sort through the miscellaneous items and determine what you need, what needs to be thrown out and what should be stored in a different place. This simple act will start you down the path of feeling ultra-organized and save you a few minutes of digging each time you open it.

Are your holiday decorations still up? This is the perfect time to pack away the ornaments, trinkets and lights throughout your home. Then, when spring rolls around, you can jump right in with fresh flowers and other seasonal decorations. And don’t worry, we won’t tell anyone you still have them up.

Take a few minutes to pull out the fridge and stove and clean the difficult spots behind and under these appliances. And hey, while you’re at it, you might as well clean out the inside, right?

While you’re moving things, pull couches and other furniture away from walls to do a quick sweep with the vacuum. Who knows what kinds of treasures you’ll find back there?

It may still be too cold to wash the windows from the outside, but why not start by doing the inside? Fun fact: use newspaper to wipe away window cleaner. We promise you will end up with sparkling, streak-free panes. Especially if you use Watkins Lavender Cleaner!

Did we miss anything? What are you hoping to get a jump start on this year?
